“The result of letting the mathematics of sound teach me how to create music. Tracking software lay bare a way to manipulate sound purely by numbers, instead of the classical musician-centric route, here was a new way to interface with sound. I had just moved to an industrial neighborhood in Brooklyn, it was 1997 and finally everything lined up within a technological, creative, and chronological point of reference. Being able to manipulate sounds through a numerically oriented interface opened me up into feeling confident about what I could actually create.’
