Island Records/Dacapo

The N.Y.C. Peech Boys were a disco/electro outfit led by Larry Levan and Michael De Benedictis.

Larry Levan made his name due to a decade long residence in the famous Paradise Garage club, becoming one of the most respected DJs in the 80’s dance scene of the Big Apple.

The highly influential “Life Is Something Special” LP, originally released via Island Records / Garage Records, was the result of Levan’s collaborations with De Benedictis.  Packed with tracks like “On A Journey”, “Life Is Something Special” and “Don’t Make Me Wait”, the album soon became a cult classic.  The cover art design by Keith Haring also added some spice to the myth now revolving around the album.

Those were, without a doubt, the golden disco days!
