It takes a certain amount of guts to jokingly name your industrial strength techno LP after one of the most beloved and belabored ambient pieces of ambient performance. G36<\/strong> (Kevin Martin aka The Bug and Gorgonn) and JK Flesh<\/strong> (aka Justin K Broadrick of Godflesh, FINAL, and many others) have collaborated on a record so slicked with filth and grease and dirt it’s hard to tell how they even constructed these songs. Behind all this however lies an extremely varied and often thrilling collection of woozily slow paced electronic music.<\/p>\n

Released by Pressure<\/strong>, “Disintegration Dubs<\/strong>” kicks off with G36<\/strong>\u2019s \u2018Wrong Place, Wrong Time\u2019, pairing oozing air-raid synths with what sounds like a stadium full of stomps and claps. The effect is sort of like a jock jam but slowed down to a queasy crawl, in a good way. JK Flesh<\/strong>\u2019s first crack \u2018Dosshouse\u2019 is even more sinister with its cement-scraper sound design and throbbing low end. On the B side G36<\/strong> lays out the record\u2019s thesis with the track closest venture towards the dancefloor on \u2018Good Vs Evil\u2019 and JK Flesh<\/strong> answers it with the mutant dub-techno of \u2018Precinct\u2019.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s rare to hear a collaboration between three distinct producers that sounds this much like a conversation between two artists on a similar tangent, and a deranged one at that. It\u2019s a blessing all the same for those with the stomach for the grimey, darkened noise they kick up on the “Disintegration Dubs<\/strong>“.<\/p>\n
