Dead Oceans<\/strong> has announced the re-issue of Bill Fay<\/strong>\u2019s “Still Some Light<\/strong>“<\/em>, a double compilation album made up of 70s album demos and 2009 home recordings. Released in two parts, pressed on vinyl and out digitally for the first time, “Still Some Light: Part 1<\/strong>” was released 14th Jan, 2022, while “Part 2<\/strong>” came out in April!<\/p>\n

Alongside, Dead Oceans<\/strong> has announced plans of a special series of four 7\u201d singles, consisting of different musicians\u2019 interpretations of Bill Fay<\/strong> classics. The first two (one a cover of \u2018Dust Filled Room\u2019 by Steve Gunn and the second, Kevin Morby\u2019s version of \u2018I Hear You Calling\u2019) will also be released 14th Jan, 2022. Fans who add both a 2xLP and 7″ to their cart can get the 7″ for 15% off.<\/p>\n

“<\/em>Still Some Light<\/strong>” <\/em>was originally released on compact disc as a two CD collection in 2010. Reimagined with new artwork and available for the first time ever on vinyl, “Still Some Light: Part 1<\/strong>” collects Fay<\/strong>\u2019s archival recordings from 1970 and 1971. Many of the songs are intimate sketches which were eventually re-recorded for Fay\u2019s landmark second album, Time of the Last Persecution<\/em>. The announcement follows the release of “<\/em>Countless Branches“<\/em> on 17th January, 2020, Fay<\/strong>\u2019s acclaimed seventh studio album and third since his decades-long hiatus.<\/p>\n
