Released by Ghost Box,<\/strong> “Nova<\/strong>” has a wide instrumental palette with ethereal vocals from Jo\u00e3o Branco Kyron and Martinez. Kyron\u2019s synths are now augmented by recent band recruit, Bernard Loopkin. Antonio Watts\u2019 mesmerising percussion beautifully underpins proceedings with the bass & guitars of Sergue and Jo\u00e3o Moreira intertwined throughout to lend a sinuous, human feel. There\u2019s a mood evocative of 60s & 70s movie soundtracks, library music & vintage electronica. Lyrically the songs are surreal and dreamlike, taking stylistic cues from situationism, cut-up & similar techniques of the psychedelic imagination.<\/p>\n

Beautify Junkyards<\/strong> have always enjoyed working with writing and performing collaborators. Nova<\/i> is no exception and features some very special guests. Paul Weller<\/b> sings and plays guitar on the co-written song, \u201cSister Moon\u201d. Dorothy Moskowitz<\/b> (of United States of America<\/b>) co-wrote and sings on \u201cTurn the Tide\u201d. Jesse Chandler<\/b> (of Pneumatic Tubes, Midlake and Mercury Rev<\/b> ) contributes flute on \u201cGroundstar\u201d<\/p>\n

Julian House<\/b>\u2019s beautiful and carefully researched design work for the album draws its inspiration from the situationist and revolutionary underground press of 1960s Europe. The heavyweight vinyl LP version comes with a free download code card.<\/p>\n
