{"id":3083,"date":"2015-10-21T16:27:08","date_gmt":"2015-10-21T15:27:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wasserbassin.com\/site\/product\/michal-turtle-are-you-psychic-12\/"},"modified":"2018-08-18T01:55:02","modified_gmt":"2018-08-18T00:55:02","slug":"michal-turtle-are-you-psychic-12","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/www.wasserbassin.com\/site\/product\/michal-turtle-are-you-psychic-12\/","title":{"rendered":"Michal Turtle &#8211; Are You Psychic?\/Astral Decoy- 12&#8243;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For the second installment in their 12\u201d series <strong>Music From Memory<\/strong> present two deeply forward thinking electronic tracks from British musician <strong>Michal Turtle<\/strong> made between 1983-84.<\/p>\n<p>The first track <strong>\u2018Are you Psychic?<\/strong>\u2019 is taken from Turtle\u2019s obscure \u2018Music From The Living Room\u2019 album which Michal recorded literally in the living room of his family\u2019s South London house at the young age of 22.<\/p>\n<p>Over-running his parents&#8217; front room with various synthesizers, amps and instruments, and setting up a portable four track studio the \u2018Music From The Living Room\u2019 tracks were built around live jams that took place alone or sometimes with musicians he would invite to play alongside him. Whilst seemingly sample based the instruments were played live and any voices or sound effects were actually recorded directly to tape, or put onto tiny 2.5 second cassette loops.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2018Astral Decoy\u2019<\/strong> was made in the year following the release of his only solo LP and forms part of a series of unreleased tracks that reflect a growing interest in combining electronics with more analogue elements such as Xylophone and live percussion.
