Making an indelible impression on modern vinyl heads and producers alike (having been sampled by DJ Premier, Jay-Z, Common, 50 Cent) the Something About April brand is an axiom to the modern \u201cBreakbeat,\u201d and Linear Labs is happy to announce its successor: “Something About April II”<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span>

Recorded with a collection of rare instruments, “Something About April II”<\/strong> advances Younge<\/strong>\u2019s musical paradigm with enterprising concepts, and grander compositions, synthesizing the boundaries between dark American soul, and classic European cinema. This latest release features an array of entrancing vocalists: Laetitia Sadier (Stereolab) and Bilal, perform duets on \u201cStep Beyond\u201d and \u201cLa Ballade,\u201d reminiscent of duets from Serge Gainsborg & Jane Birkin; Raphael Saadiq blends \u201cBlack Jazz\u201d vocals with psychedelic soul on \u201cMagic Music,\u201d while Israeli star, Karolina, delivers haunting chants over concertos like \u201cHear my love\u201d and \u201cWinter is Here.\u201d Long time Adrian Younge collaborator Loren Oden croons as if the apparent ghost of Donnie Hathaway created one last love song with \u201cSandrine\u201d and \u201cSittin\u2019 by the Radio.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>
