Her second solo album, \u2018Gallop\u2019, was produced in 1985, and reissued by<strong> Dark Entries<\/strong> in 2015. The album was made exclusively using analog synthesizers, and prominently features the iconic Roland TR-808 drum machine. Lena narrates each song, reciting her own surreal poetry. Lena says of \u2018Gallop\u2019, \u201cIt\u2019s a study in the mythology of urban population of the contemporary metropolis and also a gaze into the future life of it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ve recruited Tel-Aviv\u2019s <strong>Red Axes<\/strong> to remix four of their favorite tracks from \u2018Gallop\u2019. The duo, DJs and producers Dori Sadovnik and Niv Arzi, were raised on a diet of post-punk, new-wave, and Italo-disco at fogged out warehouse and basement parties. Their own productions and remixes have appeared on labels such as I\u2019m a Clich\u00e9, Correspondant, and Hivern Discs. Through their alchemy, \u201cWitches\u201d and \u201cAnd We Hear \u201cI Love You\u201d have been transformed into solid dancefloor tools, while \u201cNo. 9\u201d and \u201cLiqueur Ruby\u201d are submerged in psychedelic mist. The latter features middle eastern rhythms by fellow Tel Aviv musicians The Dirty Lizards.<\/p>\n<p>All songs have been mastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. The jacket is a reinterpretation of the original \u2018Gallop\u2019 cover, isolating the photograph of Lena layered on a grid backdrop designed by Eloise Leigh.
