Following the successful reissue of Midori Takada<\/strong>‘s\u00a0“Through The Looking Glass”, WRWTFWW Records<\/strong> present another release from the legendary Japanese percussionist: 1990’s “Lunar Cruise”<\/strong>, her superb collaboration with jazz pianist, synth master, composer, and arranger Masahiko Satoh<\/strong>. Arguably the best kept secret in Midori Takada<\/strong>‘s fascinating discography,\u00a0“Lunar Cruise”<\/strong> is an under-the-radar masterpiece that captures Takada<\/strong> (on marimba and minimal percussion set-up) and Satoh<\/strong> (on Korg M1 and Yamaha DX7II synths, Ensoniq EPS sampler, and acoustic piano) vibrantly fusing traditional African and Asian percussion with jazz, ambient, and minimalism.<\/p>\n

The album also features the great Haruomi Hosono<\/strong> (Yellow Magic Orchestra<\/strong>, Happy End<\/strong>) and Kazutoki Umezu<\/strong> (saxophone, clarinet)!<\/p>\n
