{"id":5691,"date":"2018-09-10T23:28:01","date_gmt":"2018-09-10T22:28:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wasserbassin.com\/site\/?post_type=product&#038;p=5691"},"modified":"2020-04-12T22:56:32","modified_gmt":"2020-04-12T21:56:32","slug":"sonoio-fine-cd","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/www.wasserbassin.com\/site\/product\/sonoio-fine-cd\/","title":{"rendered":"Sonoio &#8211; Fine &#8211; CD"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Prior to releasing a string of influential and widely acclaimed solo records under his own name on labels such as <strong>Important<\/strong> and <strong>Hospital Productions<\/strong>, <strong>Alessandro Cortini (Nine Inch Nails)<\/strong> self-released two albums under the name <strong>SONOIO<\/strong> (\u201cIt\u2019s Me.\u201d) in 2010 and 2011 in limited runs.<\/p>\n<p>Praised for their complex and rich pop sound, strong vocal delivery and thoughtful compositions with impeccable production values, <strong>SONOIO<\/strong>\u2019s \u201cRed\u201d and \u201cBlue\u201d (and the accompanying remix albums \u201cNon Red\u201d and \u201cNon Blue\u201d) made heavy use of Cortini\u2019s expert manipulation of the Buchla synthesizer, releasing the single \u201cEnough\u201d, and remixing <strong>Ladytron<\/strong>\u2019s \u201cHoudini\u201d before setting off on tour in direct support.<\/p>\n<p>As activity with Nine Inch Nails, the demands of touring, and his other solo endeavors began to pick up, production on the third and final <strong>SONOIO<\/strong> installment was delayed.\u00a0 In 2014 however, after years of silence, SONOIO posted the single and video for the song <strong>\u201cThanks For Calling\u201d<\/strong> exclusively on <strong>sonoio.org<\/strong> and quickly reignited rumors and hope for the release of the third album.<\/p>\n<p>Four years have passed since then, and <strong>Dais Records<\/strong> is proud to announce \u2013 <em>finally<\/em> &#8211; the exclusive release of SONOIO\u2019s third and final effort: &#8220;<strong>Fine<\/strong>&#8220;, and the official re-release of the single and video for \u201cThanks For Calling\u201d. &#8220;<strong>Fine<\/strong>&#8221; is the first <strong>SONOIO<\/strong> full length to be released on vinyl, with art direction and package design by Caspar Newbolt and photography by Matt Sundin.<\/p>\n<p>Opening track \u201cI Don\u2019t Know\u201d and the mournful follow-up \u201cLeft\u201d set the stage for the emotional ride, with reverbed synths over an acute mid-tempo beat \u2013 accompanied by astonishingly strong vocals, which those accustomed to Cortini\u2019s instrumental works will likely be happily shocked by. Next, the aforementioned single \u201cThanks For Calling\u201d starts slow, building over 4 minutes with Cortini whispering, speaking, building strength into the gorgeously delivered line: \u201cfalling to pieces\u201d before the track explodes into a driving anthem.<\/p>\n<p>The album then quite literally descends into \u201cPieces\u201d, an instrumental effort that brings to mind Aphex\u2019s Ambient Works \u2013 a submerged lullaby of electronics before re-emerging into \u201cVitamin D\u201d, an energetic and pulsing track that snaps the listener to attention.
